Hi, I'm Sarah.

I’m a Professional Counselor Associate and a Certified Parent-Child CARE (PC-CARE) Provider, supervised by Jamie Watson, LMFT. I offer in-person therapy for parents and children in Tigard, Oregon, as well as telehealth sessions across the state.

For more than 10 years, I’ve worked with kids, teens, and families in schools, group practices, and now at Oak Hills Counseling Center. I specialize in supporting children, teens, and their parents through challenges like big emotions, behavioral struggles, transitions, and life changes.

Parenting is one of the hardest—and most important—jobs out there. Yet most of us step into it with little training or guidance. Through my background in education and counseling, and my focus on child behavior, I’ve learned evidence-based strategies that really work. These strategies have been invaluable both in my counseling work and in raising my own three children.

That’s why I offer both therapy for kids and teens as well as parent support—providing practical tools, encouragement, and hope. I involve parents as closely as possible in the process because when parents feel equipped and supported, children and teens can truly thrive. Even small shifts at home can create powerful ripple effects, leading to more calm, more confidence, and more joy.

I believe every family is capable of growth and positive change. Whether you’re seeking a little extra support or more ongoing guidance, I’m here to help you and your family grow and move forward together.

Therapy Services

Every child, teen, and family is unique, and support looks different for everyone. In our first session, we’ll talk through your goals and hopes so I can understand what feels most helpful. From there, I may recommend individual therapy for your child or teen, parent support sessions to give you tools, strategies, and encouragement, parent-child therapy (Parent-Child CARE) to strengthen connection and communication, group support for shared learning and community, or a combination of these. Together, we’ll create a personalized plan that feels supportive, doable, and the right fit for your family.

Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, I work one-on-one with children, teens, or parents to help you understand your feelings and thoughts, develop healthy and helpful coping skills, and better manage day-to-day challenges, stressors, or whatever you are experiencing. Whether you’re a parent needing support or a child or teen working through tough emotions, these sessions provide a safe space to talk, learn, and grow.

Parent-Child CARE

Mother and Son

Parent-Child CARE is a modern, short-term therapy developed at UC Davis Children’s Hospital. This evidence-based program is designed to help families build stronger connections and navigate parenting challenges in a positive and supportive way

.

In Parent-Child CARE, both parent and child work together to learn new skills that strengthen your relationship. It’s an interactive approach—you’ll practice strategies during sessions and receive coaching on how to use them at home. Over time, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of these tools and how to apply them to create lasting, positive change. Sessions are available in-person or virtually.

Group Therapy

Girl in Classroom

I offer group therapy for parents, children, and teens.

Parent-only groups focus on learning about child development and mental and emotional health, gaining practical strategies to support your family’s well-being, and receiving support through shared experiences with other parents.

Kid- and teen-only groups provide a safe and supportive space for children and teens to increase emotional awareness, develop and practice important skills, and build confidence alongside peers.

Many of us feel isolated or like we’re the only ones facing these challenges—but you are not alone! Being part of a supportive community can make a big difference. Groups offer a space to connect, share experiences, and learn from others who truly understand what you’re going through.

Family Support Program

Parent Support Programs are like a crash course for parents who want to learn a lot in a short time. Instead of meeting for weeks, you get focused support in a few extended sessions. These sessions give you the information and tools you need right away.

During these weeks, you’ll get extra support with frequent check-ins and homework. It’s designed to fit your schedule and help you make quick, meaningful changes.
